The Garmin Vivoactive 6 is introduced slimmer, with a brighter display and a long-awaited new feature.

Garmin has introduced the Vivoactive 6, its new model of GPS sports watches. Among the standout features are a slimmer design and a brighter display. Additionally, it includes a long-awaited software feature. The Vivoactive 6 will be available on the market at a price of $299.99, replacing the Vivoactive 5, which was also launched at the same cost.

Garmin has unveiled the Vivoactive 6, its new model of fitness-oriented GPS watches. This device stands out for its slimmer design and brighter display, as well as incorporating a highly anticipated software feature for users. The Vivoactive 6 has a launch price of $299.99, replacing the Vivoactive 5, which was launched in 2023 at the same price.

The new model continues the line of its predecessor, offering a wide range of fitness functions, but in a slightly more compact format. Although the overall design remains similar, the Vivoactive 6 is 10.9mm thinner and has slightly reduced its weight. The display retains the size of 1.2 inches (30.4mm) but now features an “even brighter AMOLED display,” which will enhance visibility in daylight conditions.

Like other Garmin models, the Vivoactive 6 provides comprehensive sleep and activity tracking, with over 80 sports available. Compared to its predecessor, it now offers more advanced running dynamics, including the running power feature that was missing in the previous model, providing additional insights for those training for races.

One of the most significant new features is the addition of a smart alarm. Garmin has been a pioneer in sleep tracking for many years, using its Body Battery function to help users balance their activity and rest. This new alarm system monitors sleep stages and wakes the user with a gentle vibration during the light sleep phase within a predefined time window, thus avoiding the discomfort of being abruptly awakened.

The Vivoactive 6 features two buttons and a touchscreen, allowing data synchronization with Garmin Connect on the phone. It is compatible with Android devices and iPhones, and offers various smartwatch functions, including music, Garmin Pay, and notifications, with the option for Android users to respond via an on-screen keyboard.

It will be available in four colors: Black/Slate, Bone/Lunar Gold, Jasper Green, and Pink Dawn, and orders can be placed starting April 4th.
