The first trailer for Borderlands 4 shows total warfare.
The upcoming sci-fi adventure game from Gearbox, focused on loot hunting, will be released in 2025.
Gearbox Software has released the first full trailer for Borderlands 4 during the Game Awards celebration, giving us a clearer view of its aesthetics and gameplay mechanics. The title is anticipated to be launched in 2025. The trailer begins with a cinematic sequence showcasing a large-scale conflict, before diving into the franchise's signature gameplay style, which remains vibrant and action-packed.
In this installment, players will be able to experience the game in single-player mode or cooperatively with up to three allies. Gearbox has stated that there will be "billions" of weapons available for players.
The central plot revolves around the struggle against the oppressive Timekeeper, a dictator who exerts his dominance over the populace. Currently, a massive catastrophe is threatening his order, generating chaos across the planet. Players will need to ignite a resistance and carve their way through mechanical monsters, bloodthirsty bandits, and hostile beasts while amassing an arsenal of devastating weapons to wreak havoc throughout the world of Kairos.
This new chapter in the looter shooter series is the first new installment since Borderlands 3, which was released in 2019, and it takes place in a particular context for Gearbox, as the company was acquired by Take-Two this year after being sold by the publisher Embracer.
Although Borderlands 4 does not yet have a specific release date, it is expected to be available for PS5, Xbox, and PC next year.
