The first Tesla V4 Superchargers with a power of 500 kW will arrive next year.

Faster charging speeds if your vehicle allows it.

Tesla plans to launch fully operational V4 Supercharger stations next year, which will offer charging capabilities of up to 500 kW for electric vehicles and up to 1.2 MW for the commercial Semi trucks. Currently, permitting processes are underway for sites that will feature these new V4 cabinets. Once these stations open, they will be equipped with advanced electronics that will allow for faster charging, especially for the Cybertruck and other electric vehicles from various manufacturers.

The deployment of V4 charging points already began last year in Europe and at some locations in the United States, although existing stations with V3 power cabinets are limited to a maximum charging capacity of 250 kW. The new V4 stops will incorporate physical payment terminals, longer cables that facilitate access to charging ports without blocking other spaces, and CCS connectors, eliminating the need to carry adapters.

Tesla has indicated that the V4 cabinets can be implemented more rapidly and that each unit can power up to eight charging stations simultaneously. This will particularly benefit owners of certain electric vehicle models from brands like Porsche, Hyundai, and Kia, who currently experience slower charging speeds at V3 Superchargers due to the lack of higher voltage charging options.
