The first smart home display from Apple could pay tribute to an iconic iMac.

Apple is set to launch a lower-end smart home display that will not be robotic and is reminiscent of the iMac design known as the "lamp shade," according to reports from a tech expert.

It is rumored that Apple will launch a new smart home device that could be inspired by the design of the iMac G4. According to a recent report, this new Apple display will have a compact size and feature a square screen mounted on a small base, similar to the circular bottom of the iconic iMac from two decades ago.

The device, which seems to combine features of a HomePod and a display, could include speakers and operate with customized versions of some Apple applications such as FaceTime, Calendar, and Notes. Additionally, its integration with Apple Intelligence technology is being considered, something that is not available in the current smart devices from the company.

Although the exact price has not been confirmed, it is speculated that it will be an affordable product. Previously, there had been mention of a more advanced model with a robotic arm that would allow the screen to be moved, although this is not expected before 2026. The idea of seeing an Apple device that evokes the design of the iMac G4 is appealing to many, especially those who have a special fondness for the brand's vintage design.

The curiosity for a device that can be used for everyday functions, such as setting timers or watching videos while cooking, is generating excitement among technology enthusiasts. Many would be willing to consider purchasing this new device if it materializes with a charming and functional design.
