Jensen will be busy celebrating the Lunar New Year.

Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia, has decided not to attend Donald Trump's inauguration, despite other prominent tech leaders like Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and Tim Cook being present. Instead of participating in the ceremony on Monday, Huang plans to celebrate Lunar New Year with employees and their families.

Although he will not be at the inaugural event, Huang expressed his desire to congratulate the Trump administration once they assume power. During a conversation with reporters outside Nvidia's Lunar New Year party in Taipei, he mentioned that he discussed increasing production of the advanced Blackwell artificial intelligence chips with Chung Ching Wei, the president of TSMC, its main supplier.

Nvidia controls approximately 90 percent of the artificial intelligence chip market. However, the company has criticized a new AI regulatory framework presented by the Biden administration, which limits the number of chips that can be shipped to other countries. In a statement, Nvidia praised the more flexible regulatory environment that existed during Trump's first administration and expressed hope for a return to policies that strengthen U.S. leadership.

Unlike other companies and tech executives who have made donations to Trump's inauguration, such as Meta, Google, and Microsoft, Nvidia does not appear on that list. Huang has also not visited Mar-a-Lago to establish direct ties with Trump, unlike executives from other companies who have done so, such as Tim Cook and Sundar Pichai.
