The Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones are back on sale at their lowest price yet.
The Bose QuietComfort Ultra wireless headphones in Lunar Blue are on sale for $100 off.
The Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones were released almost a year ago, and currently, Amazon is offering the Lunar Blue model at a price of $329, which represents a $100 savings off the suggested retail price. This price was also seen last week across all colors during Amazon's fall sale. The Lunar Blue model appears to be a limited edition, which could explain the offer or simply be part of Amazon's strategy to keep promotions appealing after the end of October's Prime Day.
This price marks a return to the historical low for Bose's enhanced noise-canceling headphones. In a review conducted at the launch of these headphones, they received a respectable score of 86. The differences between this Ultra version and the standard QuietComfort headphones include the integration of Bose's spatial audio technology.
The design has also undergone changes; it now features a single multifunction control instead of the three buttons previously used for managing playback and modes. Additionally, a touch strip has been added to adjust the volume. Some of the plastic has been replaced with metal, maintaining the same level of comfort as in previous Bose models, which is especially appreciated during long listening sessions. And of course, active noise cancellation remains one of the best available.
Regarding the Immersive Audio feature, which is the key selling point, its performance is variable. This feature is compatible with any type of content, not just those specifically designed for it, such as Dolby Atmos in Apple Music or Sony's 360 Reality Audio. However, as it relies on signal processing rather than specially designed sounds, the results can vary significantly. Despite this, Bose has improved the overall audio quality, so even without the new feature, the sound is warmer and clearer than in the standard models.
In our guide to the best wireless headphones, we mentioned the QuietComfort Ultra, although we noted that the $100 price increase over the standard models isn't entirely justifiable, given the inconsistency of success with spatial audio. Nevertheless, with the current discount, the QC Ultra headphones in blue are now $20 cheaper than the originals, which might make it a good time to consider this more expensive option or not.
