The amazing transparent OLED TV from LG is now available for purchase, although its price is not low.

The future of television is already here.

LG has launched its innovative transparent OLED TV, the Signature OLED T, in the US market at a price of $59,999. This exceptionally designed TV offers various installation options, including placing it in front of windows. The connection is made wirelessly through LG's Zero Connect box, which enables 4K image quality at 120 Hz.

The Signature OLED T, a 77-inch TV, stood out at CES 2024, where it was presented as the world's first transparent OLED TV with wireless audio and video transmission. Although its release date and price were not announced at that time, it is now available at selected retailers, including Best Buy and LG's official website. The possibility of it being sold in other markets will be communicated in the future.

One of the most interesting features of the LG Signature OLED T is its ability to switch from transparent to opaque with the press of a button, allowing for multiple viewing options. In transparent mode, images appear to float in a three-dimensional space. On the other hand, in opaque mode, a rollable back panel turns it into a conventional TV, perfect for watching movies and TV shows. It is also designed for gaming, supporting 4K at 120 Hz, as well as compatibility with AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync certification.

According to a press release from LG, the Signature OLED T offers three distinct viewing modes:

  • T-Object: an always-on viewing mode.
  • T-Bar: an information strip at the bottom of the screen displaying sports scores and weather forecasts.
  • T-Home: a standard smart TV interface showing apps, settings, and other services.

During CES 2024, transparent TVs caught attention, with LG and Samsung highlighting these innovations in their displays. Among the two companies, LG's Signature OLED T was presented as the most ready for market, and it has fulfilled its promise, being launched in December 2024. Despite its high cost compared to other OLED models, such as those at 83 inches and 8K, the LG Signature OLED T represents an intriguing option for those looking for a TV that combines cutting-edge design with state-of-the-art technology.
