The 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E Becomes More Sporty and Affordable.
The second most popular electric vehicle in the United States is getting a makeover.
Ford is refreshing its flagship electric vehicle, the Mustang Mach-E 2025, with a focus on maintaining its position as the second best-selling electric model in the United States. Although this new version will not see an increase in its range, it is expected that this will not be an issue thanks to an enhanced design and new technologies that will aid its market longevity.
One of the most significant additions is the standard installation of a heat pump, a feature that is also found in the F-150 Lightning Flash. This component will help maintain optimal battery temperatures during winter months, benefiting charging times, range, and overall vehicle performance. As the automotive industry progresses, more electric vehicles are beginning to include heat pumps as standard.
In terms of design, the Mustang Mach-E 2025 features a new sporty appearance package, incorporating stylistic elements from the GT model. Notable updates include a redesigned front bumper, a protective grille, and red-painted front Brembo brake calipers. Additionally, 19-inch wheels with a gloss black finish and black detailing on the sides and wheel arches have been added.
Inside, red stitching on the seats and sporty pedals enhances the overall sporty atmosphere. Ventilated front seats have been added as standard equipment in the Premium models, and the center-mounted gear selector has been replaced with a column-mounted option, freeing up space in the console.
An important new feature is the arrival of version 1.5 of the BlueCruise advanced driver assistance system, which will incorporate Automatic Lane Change functionality. Ford claims that this functionality can automate up to 45% of lane changes during an average trip, based on internal testing. This system can perform lane changes without driver intervention, initiating the movement if the vehicle ahead is slower than the set speed or if there is a vehicle tailgating in the passing lane. BlueCruise will be available through a monthly or annual subscription for the Mustang Mach-E 2025.
Finally, the price has been adjusted to $36,495, excluding incentives or tax credits, making it a more affordable option compared to the Tesla Model Y, the best-selling electric vehicle in the country, which starts at $44,490. This price adjustment could help Ford maintain or even improve its position in the sales ranking.
