Testing the Tesla App for Apple Watch: Finally!

It was something that had been anticipated for a long time, but it has finally arrived.

Tesla has finally launched an app for the Apple Watch, which many have been eagerly anticipating. Although the wait has been long, Tesla vehicle owners can now enjoy this functionality on their smartwatches, as long as they update their car's software to version 2024.44.25.

To test the new app, an Apple Watch Series 10 was used alongside two Tesla models: a 2021 Model 3 Long Range and a 2016 Model X 90D. However, testing could only be conducted with the Model X, as the Model 3 had not yet received the update. As a result, it was noted that the older Model X lacked some features of the new app, such as the ability to use the watch as a key for the car.

The app has an attractive design, featuring a large icon of the Model X, information about the vehicle's charging status, and the time remaining to reach the desired charge. It also allows users to check the vehicle identification number (VIN) and the software version, although overall, the available functionalities were found to be limited.

When the Model 3 receives the update, the app is expected to offer more features, such as locking and unlocking the vehicle, climate control, and opening the front trunk. This would be very practical, considering the ease of access provided by a smartwatch.

There are third-party apps that offer more options than Tesla's official app, but many people prefer to have an app developed by the brand itself for critical functions like unlocking the car.

There was also interest in testing a new software feature called "Fart on contact"; however, this function was not available for the Model X, which disappointed the user. It is expected that once it is available in the other vehicle, a more thorough review of its functionality will be conducted.
