Tesla recalls nearly 700,000 vehicles due to a tire pressure monitor issue.
The latest vehicle recall by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration affects nearly 700,000 cars from the Tesla brand.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has informed owners of nearly 700,000 Tesla vehicles about an issue related to the tire pressure monitoring system warning light. The affected models include the 2024 Cybertruck, the 2017 to 2025 Model 3, and the 2020 to 2025 Model Y. According to the NHTSA, the tire pressure monitoring system warning light may not stay illuminated between trips.
Tesla has announced that it will implement an over-the-air update to address the warning light issue. Notification letters to owners are expected to be sent out on February 15, 2025.
In the past year, Tesla has faced several recalls. The NHTSA reported seven recalls in the past year alone for the Cybertruck, related to issues such as the rearview camera, faulty windshield wipers, and loose trunk compartments. Additionally, in June, an over-the-air update was carried out affecting 1.8 million vehicles, including certain Model 3, S, and X from 2021 to 2024, and Model Y from 2020 to 2024, to correct an issue with hoods that could come loose if not closed properly.
