Tesla launches the anticipated redesign of its Model Y.
Tesla has released its new Model Y in a recent update aimed at China and Australia. Below, we provide information about the latest features of this line.
Tesla has recently introduced its revamped Model Y, a long-awaited redesign that has been in the works for over five years. This new model is available exclusively in the markets of China and Australia. Internally known as Juniper, the Model Y shares similarities with the redesigned Model 3 launched earlier in 2023, while also incorporating details from other brand projects.
Currently, the vehicle can be purchased through Tesla's official website in China, and deliveries are expected to begin in March. At launch, two versions of the Model Y will be offered. The rear-wheel drive edition is priced at 263,500 Chinese yuan (approximately $35,935) and offers an estimated range of 593 kilometers (368 miles). On the other hand, the long-range version, which costs 303,500 Chinese yuan (around $41,390), promises to reach up to 719 kilometers (446 miles) of range. Both versions share a top speed of 201 kilometers per hour (about 124 mph) and maintain a fast-charging capability of 250 kW.
Tesla has indicated that the driving experience has been significantly enhanced thanks to a series of updates to the tires, wheels, and suspension. The models will offer 19-inch and 20-inch wheel options, and the range figures have been calculated using the smaller tire version.
Inside, the new Model Y incorporates an ambient light strip similar to that of the latest Model 3, which spans much of the cabin and allows for customization in various colors. Additionally, electric rear seats and a touchscreen for rear passengers have been added. Tesla claims that the suspension has been refined and road noise has been reduced.
