Swippitt stands out as one of the most innovative smartphone accessories I've seen in years.

Can you imagine never having to charge your smartphone again? I recently discovered a device called Swippitt that aims to make this possible, and it's truly amazing.

Smartphone accessories often tend to seem a bit monotonous. While items like power banks, cases, cables, and screen protectors are essential, they typically aren't very exciting. However, CES 2025 proved that this doesn’t have to be the case. In this edition of the Consumer Electronics Show, several eye-catching accessories were showcased, such as the Belkin Stage PowerGrip, the impressive 165W power bank from Anker, and, most fascinating of all, Swippitt.

Swippitt was one of the latest innovations I encountered at CES and definitely one of the most memorable. This device promises to put an end to the need to charge your phone, and while it sounds far-fetched, it seems to deliver on its promise. During a private demonstration, I had the chance to see how Swippitt works, which consists of three main elements: the Swippitt Hub, the Swippitt Link, and the Swippitt app.

The Hub is a rectangular box that sits on a desk or flat surface. The Link is a case for your phone that includes a battery integrated into the bottom. Inside the Hub, there are five additional batteries. Through the app, you can check information about the charge and the available batteries, deciding how often you want to interact with this system. By placing your phone in the Link case, it wirelessly charges, providing additional power while you’re on the move.

The truly interesting part occurs when the battery in the Link case runs out. You simply head over to the Swippitt Hub, slide your phone into the top slot, and within seconds, the depleted battery is automatically replaced with a fully charged one, while the dead battery begins recharging in the Hub. This system is designed to ensure that you always have access to a charged battery when you need it. If you realize your phone's battery is low before heading out, you only need to approach the Hub, and in a couple of seconds, you’ll have a new battery ready to go.

Swippitt aims to offer its Hub and Link system to families, as the Hub contains multiple batteries to ensure that each household member has access to fresh power. However, there are some concerns. While the idea is innovative and, based on the demonstration, truly works, it might be considered excessive. With a little ingenuity, you could achieve something similar using conventional portable batteries that you keep charged.

Moreover, the capacity of each Swippitt battery is 3,300mAh, providing decent longevity but may not be sufficient to charge a modern phone from zero to full. This implies that you’ll likely still need to plug your device into a power source at certain times. As for the case, while it felt like a quality product during the demonstration, it is a bit bulky, something that can’t be overlooked, although it wasn’t uncomfortable to use.

Despite my reservations, I am excited by the existence of Swippitt. I’m not sure it fits my lifestyle, but it will surely be a great help for large families with forgetful kids. While Swippitt doesn’t eliminate the need to charge your phone, it guarantees immediate access to a charged battery whenever required. It’s a solid proposal, and the execution of the product seems convincing. The Hub’s design is appealing, and the cases feel robust. It also has a fun futuristic vibe to sliding the phone into a box and instantly getting a new battery.

Regarding purchases, it has been reported that pre-orders for Swippitt are already open, with shipments scheduled to start in June. The Hub starts at $450, and each Link case costs $120. Currently, Swippitt offers Link cases for the entire range of iPhone 14, iPhone 15, and iPhone 16, with Android smartphone support coming later in 2025.
