Sundar Pichai anticipates a profound change in Google Search by 2025.

Pichai launched a criticism towards Microsoft.

Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google, has stated that the company's search engine will undergo a profound change in 2025. During his participation in the DealBook Summit hosted by The New York Times, Pichai highlighted that more complex questions will be addressed than ever before. "I think it will surprise people, even by early 2025, what Search will be able to do compared to its current state," he commented.

In response to a statement from Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, who mentioned that Google should have been the "default winner" in the race for artificial intelligence, Pichai expressed his interest in making a direct comparison between Microsoft’s models and those of Google. In this regard, he emphasized that Microsoft is "using third-party models," referring to its collaboration with OpenAI.

Pichai also stressed that we are in the early stages of a significant transformation and predicted that there is much innovation to come in the sector. Google began a major restructuring of its search engine this year, incorporating AI-generated summaries and an updated Lens feature that allows searches using videos. Additionally, it is preparing a significant launch of its Gemini model to compete with Microsoft, OpenAI, and the AI search engine, Perplexity.
