Stardew Valley 1.6 is now available on consoles and mobile devices.
After nearly eight months, Stardew Valley players on consoles and mobile devices can finally enjoy the significant update 1.6.
The 1.6 update for Stardew Valley, which many console and mobile players have been eagerly awaiting, has been officially released. This long-awaited patch introduces a new farm type, more dialogue options with NPCs, and a series of additional events, along with multiple enhancements that enrich the gameplay experience. The PC version had previously been released on March 19, leaving console and mobile players waiting for nearly eight months.
Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone, the game's creator, explained in previous posts that the process of adapting the game for consoles has taken longer than they expected, mainly due to technical issues in the console versions. Initially, Barone had anticipated that the wait would be about a month, but they noted that bug fixes were completed on PC first before addressing the console and mobile versions.
One current drawback is a bug that causes chickens to disappear when opening the door to the coop in the new farm type called Meadowlands. Although Barone suggested that this could be interpreted as a possible intervention by a "wild coyote," a fix is being worked on. He also mentioned that the PlayStation version in Europe is facing issues, but its correction is being prioritized.
For those who venture to play the new update on console or mobile, it is recommended to start a new game in Meadowlands Farm to fully experience the additions, such as new festivals and events, in addition to how this new farm type, with blue grass and a coop, transforms the game.
Additionally, a small update 1.6.9 was released, including new content such as a lost item shop where players can acquire items that cannot be recovered if lost, for a cost of 10,000 gold. This update also brings new Easter eggs and commands for hidden cheats.
