"Split Fiction will be the next cooperative game from Hazelight Studios."

"It Takes Two" by Hazelight surpassed 20 million copies sold this year.

Josef Fares is back, and with him comes his characteristic style of direct expression. The director of Hazelight Studios has reappeared at the Game Awards to present his new project: Split Fiction. This game aligns perfectly with Hazelight's vision, maintaining the essence of their previous titles like It Takes Two and A Way Out.

In Split Fiction, two video game developers find themselves trapped in a world they created and must collaborate to escape. This split-screen co-op approach for two players promises to offer a unique gaming experience centered around teamwork.

The last few years have been quiet but incredibly successful for Hazelight Studios. In 2021, the company won the Game of the Year award for It Takes Two, where players must work together to deal with the various dangers of their home while facing the challenges of a struggling relationship, all wrapped in a style reminiscent of the classic movie "Honey, I Shrunk The Kids."

This year, the studio revealed that It Takes Two has sold 20 million copies since its release. Extensive analysis has shown that the game has maintained an impressive sales rate of approximately half a million copies per month since its launch in March 2021. This achievement is especially remarkable given that the game received minimal promotion aside from its initial release and emerged at a time when multiplayer preferences were deeply rooted in titles like Call of Duty: Warzone and Fortnite. With such a positive track record, it is safe to say that Split Fiction, set to launch on March 6 for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, will be the focus of great attention.
