Several old Samsung phones are becoming unusable, but there may be a solution on the way.

Owners of older Samsung Galaxy models have reported that a recent update has caused their phones to get stuck in a boot loop.

A recent issue reported by users of older Samsung Galaxy models has led some devices to become completely inoperable. Owners of the Galaxy S10, Galaxy Note 10, and Galaxy S10e have indicated on platforms like Reddit and X (formerly Twitter) that a recent update has caused a reboot loop on their phones, known as bootlooping. It is also mentioned that the Galaxy M51 might be affected by this situation.

According to a user on X, the cause of the problem might be related to an update of Samsung's SmartThings service, affecting devices running Android 12 or earlier versions. On the other hand, newer models such as the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra appear to be safe from this setback.

In the subreddit r/samsunggalaxy, a thread about this issue has generated over 300 comments in less than a day, many of which support the complaint of a forced restart that has led devices into bootloop. One user mentioned that since opening their phone store, they have received several visits from customers with S10 phones facing this problem.

Bootlooping is a phenomenon in which the phone constantly restarts and is indicative of possible failures in the operating system, data corruption, or hardware issues. Therefore, the concern of Samsung device owners is understandable.

Despite the lack of official announcements from the company, some sources have detected that work is being done on a solution for the SmartThings Framework. However, it is unclear if the affected devices will be able to access this update, considering that many may be unable to function.

Some users on social media suggest that performing a factory reset might resolve the problem, although it is recommended that Galaxy device owners wait for an official statement before taking this step, as performing a reset could result in permanent data loss.
