Samsung's new $60 competitor to Fitbit is now available in the United States.

Samsung is not delaying its launch for 2025. The Galaxy Fit 3 and Galaxy A16 5G will soon be arriving in the United States. Here are all the details.

Samsung has started the new year strong, launching two mobile devices in the U.S. market. The Galaxy Fit 3 and the Galaxy A16 5G had already been available in other markets since last October, but now the company has confirmed their arrival in the U.S.

Starting with the Galaxy Fit 3, this device is presented as an attractive successor to the Galaxy Fit 2 launched in 2022. It is a small and affordable fitness tracker, comparable to the Fitbit Charge 6 or Fitbit Inspire 3 models. The Fit 3 features a 1.6-inch AMOLED display, which is 45% larger than its predecessor, and offers up to 13 days of battery life. Its design includes a matte aluminum body and is water-resistant with a 5ATM/IP68 rating.

Regarding health-related features, the Galaxy Fit 3 can track over 100 types of exercises and has automatic detection for activities such as walking, running, and swimming, as well as for using elliptical and rowing machines. It also includes sleep tracking features such as sleep cycles, snoring detection, and blood oxygen monitoring, a capability that is not even available on the Apple Watch Series 9 in the U.S. All health data syncs with the Samsung Health app.

In addition to fitness features, the Galaxy Fit 3 allows users to control music and podcast playback from their phone, receive notifications, and use some lightweight apps and widgets for weather and calendar. It also stands out for its safety features, such as fall detection and emergency SOS, which is activated by pressing the side button five times. All this is available for just $60.

On the other hand, Samsung has also announced the availability in the U.S. of the Galaxy A16 5G smartphone. This model has interesting specifications, including a 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz and up to 800 nits of maximum brightness. Additionally, it is equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera, a 5MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 13MP front camera. The A16 is powered by Samsung's Exynos 1330 chip and a 5,000mAh battery.

A notable aspect of the Galaxy A16 5G is the software support it offers, as Samsung promises six years of Android operating system updates and security patches, which is exceptional for a device that starts at just $200.

Both devices, the Galaxy A16 5G and the Galaxy Fit 3, will be available for purchase starting January 9 on Samsung's website, as well as at retailers and carriers. Furthermore, when purchasing the Galaxy A16 5G, users will receive a 50% discount on the Galaxy Fit 3, bringing the price down to just $30. It will be interesting to test the A16 5G and the Fit 3 in the real world, as based on their specifications and features at these prices, Samsung may have a couple of successful products on their hands.
