Samsung may incorporate a new notification summary feature in its upcoming software update, One UI 7. According to rumors, this functionality, called "AI notification," resembles a feature already available in iOS 18.1 as part of Apple Intelligence. The information comes from a well-known tech leaker who indicates that this feature has been added to the Galaxy AI suite.
Although no official announcement about the update has been made yet, it is believed to be currently under testing. A beta version of One UI 7 is expected to be available for Samsung phone users before the end of the month. If this feature is properly integrated, it will likely work across a range of the brand's smartphone models, similar to how other Galaxy AI features have been implemented in models like the Galaxy S22 after their original launch in the Galaxy S24.
Regarding the notification summary features in Apple Intelligence, the central idea is for artificial intelligence to analyze messages and extract the most relevant points, saving users time by eliminating the need to review each message individually. However, while the feature has been recently introduced, it has not received a completely positive reception. Some users have found its operation can be unsettling and ineffective for certain types of personal messages, such as those related to breakups.
Despite these criticisms, the option to disable or customize the function for each application could be a viable solution. Samsung seems convinced of the potential benefits this new feature can offer to Galaxy device owners. If its release is confirmed, it will join other tools in the Galaxy AI platform, such as the Sketch to Image feature and AI-driven audio transcription.
