Prominent analyst claims that Apple will launch a smart home camera.

It is reported that Apple plans to launch a smart home security camera in 2026, according to a prominent figure with connections in the company's supply chain.

Apple is in the process of launching its first smart home security camera, scheduled for 2026. Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst known for his connections with Apple's supply chain in Asia, has shared that the company plans to begin mass production of this new device, with the goal of achieving annual shipments that could reach tens of millions. The exclusive assembler of this product will be the Chinese company GoerTek.

According to Kuo, the camera designed by Apple will seamlessly connect with other brand devices via wireless connectivity, giving it a competitive advantage over other camera brands. This strategic move by Apple reflects its interest in exploring growth opportunities in the home market.

The user experience is expected to be greatly enhanced by the deep integration of this device with the Apple ecosystem, along with AI capabilities and Siri. Additionally, the camera could be integrated into a broader smart home ecosystem, being compatible with the HomeKit platform and allowing live feeds to be viewed on devices such as Apple TV, iPhones, and Apple Watches.

Apple's entry into the security camera market could have a significant impact, as there are currently around 35 million shipments per year, generating nearly 7 billion dollars in revenue. Apple’s reputation regarding privacy and security could set a new standard in an industry that has faced vulnerability issues. Its HomeKit Secure Video platform, which provides end-to-end encryption for third-party camera feeds, could represent an advantage if it decides to launch its own model, forcing other competitors to improve their security and privacy measures.

On the other hand, it is presumed that Apple's smart home department is also developing a smart display similar to the Echo Show 15 and the Nest Hub, indicating an expansion in the company’s product portfolio.
