Possible release date of the Apple AirTag 2 leaked as the price of the original AirTag drops for Prime Day.

An improvement, although it may not be significant.

Apple is preparing to launch new Apple AirTags, expected in the first half of 2025. This would be the first update to the device line since the original model was introduced in 2021. The information has been confirmed by a recent analysis that aligns with a previous report from a well-known analyst, who mentions that the new AirTags will likely feature a second-generation ultra-wideband chip, similar to the one accompanying the iPhone 15. This chip promises to provide more accurate location tracking, making it easier to find a lost AirTag.

Additionally, the new AirTags are expected to include some form of integration with the Apple Vision Pro, although details on how this will be implemented have yet to be revealed. However, it appears that the second-generation AirTag will not offer radical changes in its design. It will maintain an IP67 rating, providing resistance to dust and water, and the battery will remain replaceable. This approach could mean that the device will still require an additional accessory to attach to a keychain, which keeps a more premium aesthetic but also makes it a more expensive option compared to other Bluetooth trackers.

Meanwhile, if the lack of updates or the 2025 release date has raised doubts about the AirTag 2, there is still the option to purchase the current model, which is currently available at significant discounts.
