The Swedish car brand Polestar has begun offering its first electric vehicles manufactured in the United States. Recently, the company confirmed that it has delivered the first units of the Polestar 3 SUV to customers in the United States and Canada. This development comes in the context of the Inflation Reduction Act, passed by President Biden in 2022, which encourages manufacturers to produce electric vehicles on U.S. soil, providing tax credits to both companies and buyers.

Production of the Polestar 3 in the United States began in August at the plant located in Ridgeville, South Carolina. The manufactured vehicles will be destined for the North American and European markets, adding to the already established production in Chengdu, China. The company has announced that deliveries of the Polestar 3 in North America and Canada will ramp up in the coming weeks. Those interested in test-driving the vehicle can do so if they reside near one of the Polestar Spaces, which are exhibition spaces designed to promote the brand in major cities across the United States.

The Polestar 3 is positioned as a key model for the brand, aiming to expand its audience beyond the limited niche of its previous models. An expert tested the vehicle last month and, despite encountering some minor software issues, rated this SUV, which has a starting price of $73,400, as "excellent."
