OnePlus launches a new affordable smartphone that competes with high-end models.

Reference data, as long as it is correct, reveals interesting details about the upcoming affordable model from OnePlus.

Several weeks have passed since the official presentation of the OnePlus 13 in China. However, the smartphone manufacturer still has plans in motion, as a new OnePlus model, with the model number CPH2645 and codenamed "pineapple," was recently spotted on a benchmarking platform. The initial detection was made by a tech-dedicated site, and later, a total of five performance tests for the same device were identified, all recorded on the same date. The data from these tests provide interesting insights into the company's future affordable phone.

This is not the first encounter with the codename "pineapple." In an official report shared by a OnePlus executive, the same identifier was mentioned in relation to two devices: the upcoming OnePlus Ace 5 and another phone that will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. This same chip also powers the company's current flagship model, the OnePlus 12. Geekbench tests also revealed that the device will integrate the Adreno 750 GPU, which is consistent with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

OnePlus has been using the Ace line to promote phones in the Chinese market, often positioning them as variations of their main series. A clear example is that the OnePlus Ace 3 is essentially the same device as the OnePlus 12R that has been launched in international markets. Recently, OnePlus confirmed that it has scheduled the launch of two new phones in December in China, the OnePlus Ace 5 along with its Pro version. Moreover, Louis Lee, a brand executive, stated that the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-based phone will offer performance comparable to other competing phones equipped with the new Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.

Louis Lee also indicated in a recent post that the OnePlus Ace 5 series will be presented "next month," suggesting a launch in December. However, there is still uncertainty about the exact date when the Ace 5 might debut as the OnePlus 13R in international markets. Despite the fact that the OnePlus 13 has not yet been released outside of China, rumors point to a presentation possibly occurring in December. Based on the release history of the R line, it is likely that users will have to wait a few months before the OnePlus 13R hits the shelves, although it is shaping up to be one of the most attractive devices in the range.
