Now you can add songs to Spotify directly from Instagram posts.

Instagram has implemented an integration with Spotify that makes it easier to add songs you listen to in its app to your streaming music library.

With the growing popularity of short videos, it's common to discover new songs and artists through apps like TikTok and Instagram. Recently, Instagram has begun implementing a new integration with Spotify that allows users to add the songs they listen to in posts and Reels directly to the audio streaming app.

When a song is played in a linked Instagram post, users can tap the song's name, which appears at the bottom of the screen, to access its audio preview page. On this page, they will find a new button that says "Add" next to the Spotify logo, right next to the audio control. By pressing this button, the song will automatically be added to the "Liked Songs" section in the Spotify library. To initially use this feature, users will need to link their Spotify account with Instagram, but afterward, it will be a one-tap process.

This new service is being gradually rolled out to all users worldwide. Additionally, in August, mobile developer Alessandro Paluzzi discovered that another integration between the two apps was in development, which would allow Instagram users to continuously share what they are listening to on Spotify, appearing as notes over their profile picture. TikTok, for its part, has already offered the option to add songs heard in its videos to various streaming libraries, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music, since last year.
