NordVPN unveils a new identity theft protection tool, further expanding its empire in cybersecurity.

NordProtect is available to all Prime users in the United States, and more support is expected to be available soon.

NordVPN has decided to intensify its focus on cybersecurity with the launch of a new tool aimed at protecting against identity theft, in light of the increasing incidents in this area globally. This tool aims to safeguard users' online identities and facilitate the recovery of any losses or damages incurred.

Currently, NordProtect is exclusively available to NordVPN Prime users in the United States, and the company anticipates providing more support and an independent product during the first half of 2025.

Tomas Sinicki, managing director of NordProtect, emphasizes that while having the right cybersecurity tools is essential, a single reckless click can expose one's identity to cybercriminals. He states, "NordProtect intervenes by recovering and restoring lost identity assets.”

NordProtect offers a comprehensive identity theft protection service that includes:

  • Identity recovery and restoration: The tool provides up to $1 million to cover costs related to identity recovery, including legal expenses and lost wages. To this end, NordProtect assigns a case manager who assists the user in the restoration process.

  • Secure credit monitoring: The platform alerts users to any suspicious credit activity and provides a monthly report on their credit score.

  • 24/7 dark web monitoring: This feature alerts users if their credentials, phone numbers, Social Security numbers, or other identity assets have been leaked online.

  • Cyber extortion protection: Users have access to up to $100,000 for expert assistance and payments in response to cyber threats, which can include the removal or release of stolen information.

Sinicki emphasizes that identity theft is a global issue and is on the rise, motivating NordVPN to continue enhancing its features and adding new tools to NordProtect.

Recently, NordVPN has once again been recognized as the best VPN option by reviewers, who have highlighted its speed and effectiveness in unlocking content, as well as the improvements made across various platforms. The surge in data breaches in 2024 has demonstrated an increase in the frequency and magnitude of attacks, underscoring the growing importance of having diversified cybersecurity protection.

The introduction of NordProtect is part of a continuous effort that began in December of last year with the launch of cyber insurance plans for markets in the UK and the US. In 2024, the company also introduced a global eSIM called Saily and NordStellar, a threat exposure management solution for businesses.

Currently, NordProtect is only accessible to users in the United States who subscribe to NordVPN Prime, with pricing starting at $7.89 per month. The tool is expected to expand to other markets and have its independent version in the first half of 2025.

Additionally, the personal data deletion service Incogni is now available alongside the VPN and other products in some NordVPN packages for users worldwide.
