No Man's Sky introduces cross-save and enhancements for PS5 Pro.

Hello Games has implemented cross-save and cross-play options for No Man's Sky. Additionally, they have released an enhanced version of the game for the PS5 Pro.

In 2016, Hello Games released No Man's Sky, initially available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Over time, the game also made its way to platforms like PS5, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch, as well as virtual reality devices like PS VR1 and 2. Recently, the developer has started implementing cross-save and cross-play functionality across all these platforms, allowing players to continue their adventure regardless of the device they choose.

The Hello Games team mentioned that incorporating the ability to transfer saves has been a considerable challenge, as No Man's Sky players often invest thousands of hours exploring worlds and building complex bases. They compared the difficulty of cross-saves to moving to a new house, noting that the longer people spend in one place, the more complicated the move becomes. The company has been gradually introducing this technology into the game over the past six months, leading to the launch of this feature now. Currently, players can link their accounts through the game's official cross-save page, although in this first stage, only a "subset of users" will have the option to select their saves from multiple devices on the in-game save screen. In the coming weeks, the feature will be available to all players.

In addition to offering the ability to play across multiple platforms, Hello Games is also launching an enhanced version of No Man's Sky for the PlayStation 5 Pro. This update, releasing today, utilizes a technology called "PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution" to upscale the game to 4K at 60 fps, although players can also choose to explore worlds in 8K resolution at 30 fps. This enhanced version will include improved lighting, ultra-quality reflections, and enhanced ambient occlusion across all modes. These features are also expected to come to the PS VR2 virtual reality headset.
