Nintendo will release an alarm clock to wake you up with the sounds of Zelda and Super Mario.

Nintendo has unveiled a new device, a motion-controlled alarm clock, although it is not a successor to the Switch console. This innovative gadget, called Alarmo, has the ability to respond to the user's movements, allowing the alarm to be postponed with a simple gesture or stopped upon getting out of bed. The device is priced at $99.99 and will be available in early 2025, though Switch Online subscribers will have the opportunity to purchase it early.
This gadget was part of recent speculations that arose after its appearance in the Federal Communications Commission. The clock will include a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi radio and a 24GHz mmWave sensor. In addition to these motion features, Alarmo stands out with its immersive sound that comes from five games on the Switch platform: Breath of the Wild, Pikmin 4, Splatoon 3, Super Mario Odyssey, and Ring Fit Adventure. In total, the device includes 35 audio scenes, and it will also connect to the Nintendo account to access free updates with content from Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Mario Kart 8.
Regarding sleep tracking features, users will be able to review records to monitor their nightly movements, set a themed ringtone corresponding to their favorite game, and toggle between two alarm modes: Steady and Gentle. In Steady mode, the alarm will gradually increase its intensity if the person stays in bed for longer, while Gentle mode will maintain a constant intensity level. There will also be a Button option for those who prefer a more traditional experience when stopping the alarm. Additionally, relaxing sounds will be included to help users fall asleep with music and gentle noises.
This announcement comes at a time when Nintendo seems to be veering away from expectations regarding a new console. Recently, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom was released, which could be one of the last major titles for the Switch, and last month, the Nintendo Museum opened in Kyoto.
