"Neo Berlin 2087 is shaping up to be the first major unexpected success of 2025."

Great video game releases are on the horizon for 2025, but don't overlook Neo Berlin 2087 if you're a fan of titles like Deus Ex.

During a visit to the Tokyo Game Show last month, I had the opportunity to try out Neo Berlin 2087, an innovative cyberpunk crime thriller developed by Elysium Game Studio. The demo impressed me with its incredible visual fidelity and the vibrant atmosphere of the game, characterized by bright lights and flying cars.

Elysium's CEO, Ivan Mirkovikj, guided me through the game's features. In this adventure, I took on the role of a detective named Nolan, who must investigate the murder of the police chief and the disappearance of his daughter, Natalie. The demo featured three distinct segments, each showcasing different gameplay mechanics.

The first scenario took place on a busy street in a futuristic Berlin, where a new wall had emerged as a result of a war that had devastated Europe. This setting showcased stunning skyscrapers and shining establishments that contrasted with the conflict, creating a striking visual experience.

Next, I entered the headquarters of a criminal syndicate where I had to present my credentials. However, Nolan didn't have a search warrant. Fortunately, the game offered multiple options: I could choose to take out a guard and steal his access card, use a terminal with a code, or, if I preferred, enter shooting without hesitation.

Inspired by classic franchises that blend action and stealth, such as Metal Gear Solid and Hitman, the game allowed for a free approach. The structure of the game provided various ways to tackle objectives, adding a layer of strategy to the process. In the next phase, I explored the sewers, where combat was prominent but also included a mini-puzzle. When I reached the final room, I encountered some zombies that seemed to be cursed.

At this stage, Nolan only had a pistol, but the game allowed for seamless switching between first-person and third-person views. Mirkovikj introduced me to Nolan's cybernetic abilities, including a "slow-motion" effect reminiscent of the Matrix movies and the Max Payne games. This allowed me to evade enemies and shoot them quickly.

The final part of the demo took me to a snow-covered facility guarded by soldiers and humanoid mechs. Here, I had to employ stealth tactics to eliminate some enemies or rely on abilities when discovered. Despite having tried other exciting games at the event, Neo Berlin 2087 stood out, offering a dynamic experience with multiple ways to complete missions.

This game is expected to be released in 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X, and it promises to be one of the big hits next year.
