Microsoft Teams aims to use Copilot to keep your meetings running, whether you agree or not.

The Copilot tool in Teams meetings will now provide suggestions for follow-up questions.

Microsoft has announced new features for Copilot and Microsoft Teams, a tool aimed at improving meeting dynamics. With this update, Copilot will have the ability to suggest follow-up questions during meetings, which could extend the duration of videoconferences. However, it also offers the opportunity to uncover valuable information and new perspectives during conversations.

As stated in the Microsoft 365 roadmap, the feature will allow Copilot to generate additional questions in response to user prompts. These questions will generally be based on the previous answers provided by Copilot, addressing related topics, asking for more details, or clarifying what a participant said during the meeting.

Although this feature is still in development, Microsoft has indicated that it will begin rolling it out in March 2025. It is expected to be available for Windows and Mac users worldwide at the time of launch.

This announcement comes alongside a series of improvements and additions that Microsoft Teams has recently implemented to remain relevant and useful for its users. Among the latest updates, there is support for transcriptions in multilingual meetings, allowing for better information processing in various languages, as well as an enhanced version of document summaries generated by Copilot to facilitate the tracking of conversations.
