Microsoft and the UK government sign a multi-year technology agreement.
Microsoft will bring more artificial intelligence tools to the United Kingdom.
The UK Government has reached a significant agreement with Microsoft, which will provide various organizations across the country access to advanced artificial intelligence tools. During the Microsoft AI Tour event in London, a five-year collaboration was announced aimed at enabling public sector entities to leverage the latest technology from Microsoft, including the Copilot AI platform.
With this partnership, public sector organizations are expected to gain better terms and cost savings across Microsoft's portfolio, which includes Microsoft 365, the Azure cloud platform, Business Applications, and for the first time, Microsoft 365 Copilot.
The British Government believes that this initiative will increase the efficiency and productivity of entities in a context where many face pressure to reduce budgets and maintain agility. Furthermore, it aims to address the skills gap related to artificial intelligence, a topic of great relevance given the rapid increase in the use of this technology in the business world.
The UK Government also aims to develop a new generation of cloud services that support its digital transformation. Microsoft will play a key role in this process by offering its technology and support in artificial intelligence. Clare Barclay, CEO of Microsoft UK, emphasized that "AI technologies offer a unique opportunity to transform public services and drive economic growth in the UK."
This agreement promises to solidify Microsoft's support for the British Government in creating a top-tier digital public infrastructure, thereby improving service delivery to citizens across the country and generating opportunities for all.
