McLaren updates Google Chrome.

How much more Chrome?

McLaren is updating the Google Chrome version on its F1 car. This means the team has added more Google Chrome logos and a chrome finish to its car, which will be unveiled at the US Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, this weekend.

The McLaren MCL38 model continues the tradition of featuring wheels and logos in Google colors, but this time, similar to the special edition displayed at last year's British Grand Prix, this weekend's decoration incorporates a touch of real chrome beneath the Chrome logo, giving it a look reminiscent of custom cars from the early 2000s. However, this year more Chrome logos and a more intense application of metallic chrome have been added, extending along the sides of the car.

Driver Oscar Piastri mentions nonchalantly that quite a bit of chrome has been used; during the 2022 season, the car had a large Android logo on the top, but this has been removed in favor of focusing solely on Chrome. Nevertheless, Android is still present on the new driver suits, which have been given some chrome details. It remains uncertain whether Oscar Piastri will wear Chrome logos on his helmet.

The presentation of this chrome update will be seen on Sunday, October 20, when the US Grand Prix kicks off at 3 PM ET.
