Margaret Qualley: The prosthetics from The Substance affected my face.

Margaret Qualley has revealed that the prosthetics used in The Substance affected her face in such a way that it took her a year to recover.

The 30-year-old actress Margaret Qualley has shared a revealing experience related to her role in the controversial film "The Substance." Alongside Demi Moore, Qualley plays Elisabeth Sparkle, a woman who loses her job as an aerobics instructor due to her age. In an attempt to regain her youth, Sparkle opts for injectables that, while promising to revive her appearance, come with dark side effects.

Qualley has spoken about how the extensive use of prosthetics during filming affected her skin. In a recent episode of the podcast Happy Sad Confused, she recounted: "The character has a lot of acne, and it was actually my own acne due to the prosthetics. I thought it was perfect for the role, but the consequences were quite serious." Throughout the year, the actress had to deal with the effects of this process. She recalled moments when her face couldn't be filmed due to the conditions she had suffered: "When they were filming certain scenes, my face was so damaged that they couldn't focus on it anymore."

In another conversation with EW, Qualley revealed that the film was both a physical and emotional challenge for her. She described her daily experience as exhausting, including the challenging choreography in the training videos she participated in.

On the other hand, the series "Severance," during its three-year gap between seasons, has sparked speculation among fans about the mysterious Lumon Corporation. In a recent video clip, the cast addressed some of the most popular theories, including the idea that their separation technology, which isolates people's work memories, is linked to cloning. This theory was dismissed by the actors.

Additionally, Robert Eggers' new adaptation of "Nosferatu" has surprised audiences, surpassing $100 million in its global box office. Considered one of the most successful horror films of 2024, it has outshone the legacy of F.W. Murnau's 1922 silent classic, which is inspired by "Dracula." This new version of the iconic Count Orlok is still remembered thanks to the memorable performances of actors like Max Schreck, Klaus Kinski, and Bill Skarsgård.

Finally, there are more releases gaining attention, such as "Prime Target," a conspiracy thriller from Apple TV+ starring Leo Woodall and Quintessa Swindell. The plot follows Edward Brooks, a brilliant mathematician making discoveries in numerical sequences, unaware that his findings could be the key to unlocking all the world's digital systems, potentially leading to great chaos if they fall into the wrong hands.
