Locations of the medicine bottles in the Vatican in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
Most collectible items in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle are not of direct utility; however, the Medicine Bottles can provide you with a significant advantage if you manage to find them all.
In the world of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, players can collect a wide variety of notes, objects, weapons, and artifacts. While many of these collectibles are useful for accumulating Adventure Points or solving puzzles, there is one particular item that allows for a permanent upgrade to the main character, Indy’s, stats. This refers to the Medicine Bottles, which are hidden throughout the Vatican City and can be exchanged for Adventure Books that permanently increase either the health bar (HP) or the stamina bar. Therefore, these small, hard-to-find vials are more valuable than the ancient treasures the player might discover.
There are a total of 15 Medicine Bottles in the Vatican City within the game. These will appear only after starting the side mission "A Remedy for All," and to access some of them, it is necessary to complete the missions "A Nun in Trouble" and "The Mad Priest." Below are the locations of all the Medicine Bottles along with detailed instructions on how to find them.
-
After completing the mission "A Nun in Trouble," you will receive the Guiliana Key. Head to the Borgia Tower and find the gap you can whip through. Use the key to open the door; the bottle will be on a box in the corner.
-
During "The Mad Priest," you will receive the Sewage Key, which will take you underground through the Tower of Nicholas V. Once you pass through the closed door, go up and cross to a small balcony that leads to some stairs. The bottle is at the base of these stairs.
-
Behind the Post Office building, you will find a bottle on a wooden bench.
-
Starting from the Belvedere Courtyard, head towards the post office and turn right down a short alley; the bottle is on a table next to a set of closed doors.
-
At the entrance of Via Di Belvedere, enter the Black Shirts' store. There is a Medicine Bottle among the belongings on the long table.
-
Climb the scaffolding of the church under construction near the Borgia Courtyard. Use the chandelier to swing to a window, then to a balcony. From there, jump onto a roof where a guard is near the bottle.
-
From the Borgia Courtyard, head east towards the Apostolic Palace. Look for the area where workers are building, and the bottle will be on one of the barrels on the ground floor.
-
Sneak or disguise yourself to enter the Black Shirts' headquarters. On the upper floor, the bottle is in a room next to the stairwell leading up to the first floor.
-
On the south side of the Tower of Nicholas V, there is a staircase leading to the Passetto di Borgo. Go up until you reach Castel Sant’Angelo and continue to a dead end where you will find this bottle.
-
Through the main doors of the Apostolic Palace, enter from the Borgia Courtyard and navigate through the numerous guards until you reach the center of the room beneath the stairs, where the bottle waits in a small work area.
-
While you're in the Apostolic Palace, go up to the top floor in the bright green room. There will be guards outside, so you can choose to fight them or sneak through an adjacent room. The bottle is on one of the desks against the wall.
-
Back at the construction site outside the palace, enter the wooden shed and collect the bottle that is on a bench under the bulletin board.
-
This bottle will only be available once you have progressed in the story and met Gina. After that, use a zip line from the balcony to reach a nearby roof. Look for a gap in the fence that leads to an awning where a group of guards is washing up. The bottle is on a bench next to a disguise you can take.
-
With the disguise in action, infiltrate the restricted area north of the Belvedere courtyard and follow the southern fence until you find a gap where you can sneak to an awning. The bottle is on the table in the center of the room.
-
For the last bottle, you will need the Black Shirt Uniform. Change your outfit and head to the headquarters, where you will find an awning that requires the Black Shirt Key to open. Once inside, you will be able to collect the last bottle.
These Medicine Bottles can be exchanged at the pharmacy next to the post office. There are two types of Adventure Books that can be obtained: Moxie, which increases stamina, and Shaping Up, which raises HP. You can acquire levels 1, 2, or 3 of each type of book, but each costs 5, 10, or 15 bottles, meaning it's not possible to obtain all of them using only the bottles from this area. Therefore, it is important to carefully decide which book you want to acquire first.
