Leaks of iPhone SE 4 Cases Reveal Details About Apple's Upcoming Budget iPhone Design.
There are both similarities and differences.
According to various leaks, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to be unveiled in early 2025. Recently, an image has surfaced that allegedly shows a case for this new device, providing a preliminary glimpse of its possible design features.
This image comes from a well-known leaker and, when analyzed independently, does not seem to show significant changes compared to the iPhone SE 3, released in 2022. For example, the rear camera bump maintains the same size and position. Additionally, the buttons on the iPhone are located where users are already familiar: the cutouts for the mute switch and charging port are at the bottom, while the raised areas for the volume and power buttons remain in their usual spots.
However, other rumors suggest that the iPhone SE 4 will be the first model in the series to ditch Touch ID and the home button in favor of Face ID, which would signify a significant design shift towards a look more akin to the iPhone 14, although these modifications are not reflected in the case visualization.
Regarding more rumors about the iPhone SE 4, it has been mentioned that there could be an increase in screen size, which would go from 4.7 inches to 6.1 inches, and that the characteristic notch would be included at the top, limiting options for those who prefer more compact phones.
The case, while not showing major differences from the current model—beyond size—suggests that a new model may be in the works. The iPhone SE 3 was launched in March, which could indicate a similar timeline for its successor.
There has also been speculation that the upcoming iPhone SE might incorporate an A18 chip, similar to the one found in the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models, along with significant updates to the camera and an Apple-designed 5G modem, potentially resulting in higher speeds on mobile networks. It is also possible that the device will support Apple Intelligence features, with 8GB of RAM allowing for optimal performance of artificial intelligence functions. Apple is expected to keep the launch price at $429 / £419 / AU$719, the same as the current model.
