Leaks in Russia Suggest Details About Apple's Upcoming MacBook Pro.
Externally, they are very similar to the current models.
Recently, several Russian content creators have published videos unpacking what appears to be the new base model 14-inch MacBook Pro, which would be equipped with the M4 chip. Although Apple has not yet officially announced these devices, it is speculated that the launch will take place in November.
Over the weekend, a video from the Russian YouTube channel Wylsacom was referenced, where the packaging is similar to that of the M3 MacBook Pro, including the background design on the label that Apple typically changes annually. In a 13-minute video, the presenter showcases the laptop's setup and performs Geekbench tests compared to a 2022 MacBook Air. The CPU timing and scores presented in the video suggest that these benchmarks are authentic. Overall, the MacBook Pro shown in the video meets expectations for a model with improved specifications but without noticeable changes in its external design.
Later, another Russian content creator, Romancev768, also shared a video claiming to show the MacBook Pro with the M4 chip. Similar to the first video, the box features the same background design as last year's model. However, this video provides a glimpse of the "About This Mac" screen of the device, confirming that it indeed has the new M4 chip.
Gurman described this potential leak as "unprecedented," a sentiment echoed by the leaker ShrimpApplePro, who mentioned that a "vendor" had indicated he had 200 MacBook Pros available in stock. According to this leaker, "this is probably the largest warehouse leak I've seen." ShrimpApplePro had also shared images last month that appeared to show the leaked packaging of the 14-inch MacBook Pro.
