Launches 'Better eShop', an improved alternative for the Nintendo Switch store with better navigation and discovery.

The 'Better eShop' includes content filters, faster loading times, and a dark mode.

Nintendo Life has introduced 'Better eShop', an alternative designed to provide a better user experience compared to the official Nintendo store. This new space was developed in response to community feedback, which has expressed various frustrations with the interface and the overwhelming number of titles in the current eShop since the console's launch in 2017.

According to the creators, the original eShop has seen very few improvements and has become saturated with thousands of new games, many of which have been considered "spam." With this new platform, several useful tools have been incorporated, such as customizable content filters that allow users to sort games by genre and automatically eliminate less relevant titles. Navigability has also been optimized, and user reviews have been added.

Furthermore, 'Better eShop' offers faster loading times compared to the original store, incorporates a dark mode, and is optimized for mobile devices. On the other hand, it allows the purchase of music for Wii and Wii U, as well as the management of a shopping cart, although users will still need to purchase each game individually.

The developers at Nintendo Life have plans to add new features, including a wish list, the ability to display screenshots on game pages, a dedicated section for user reviews, and the option to mute certain developers. Currently, the service is limited to the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union.

The creation of 'Better eShop' was carried out in less than a week and is based on the Nintendo Life video game database. Although there are concerns about the possibility of Nintendo preventing data collection by the platform, the developers are committed to continuing to improve this alternative.
