Samsung's One UI interface now encompasses all of its consumer devices, including televisions and home appliances.
Samsung will begin using the One UI name for all its consumer devices, ranging from mobile devices to televisions and appliances.
Samsung has decided to adopt the name One UI for all its consumer devices, which now also includes televisions and home appliances. This announcement was made by Executive Vice President Sally Hyesoon Jeong during the company's developer conference for 2024, held in San Jose. Previously, the One UI brand was exclusive to Galaxy phones, tablets, and wearable devices.
Hyesoon Jeong stated in her speech that "One UI now goes beyond mobile, becoming the software experience for all Samsung consumer devices." This move is part of the company's strategy to achieve a more cohesive brand image across its consumer ecosystem, especially as its focus on artificial intelligence evolves.
Additionally, it was announced that the upcoming software experience, One UI 7, will launch alongside the new generation of Galaxy S phones in 2025. Hyesoon Jeong emphasized that "One UI 7 will bring a fresh new look to the entire interface." She defined three goals for the new software: to be simple (with a purpose), impactful (leaving a "distinctive impression"), and to have an emotional design that provokes a human reaction in the user.
The Samsung Vice President remarked that the home screen grid of One UI 7 reflects more focused design principles. "It's sleeker and easier to use, providing a tidy home screen regardless of the Galaxy device you are using," Hyesoon Jeong added. While users will have to wait until early next year to enjoy One UI 7, the company stated that a beta version for developers will be available later this year for testing.
