Jobs That Will Remain Strong Until 2030, Even in the Face of AI.

An analysis conducted by the World Economic Forum has reviewed the professions that could be threatened and those that, on the contrary, will be safe from the impact of artificial intelligence by the year 2030.

The World Economic Forum conducts periodic analyses on the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the labor market. Recently, it released the Future of Jobs Report, which provides insight into how automation could eliminate certain professions by 2030, while others may thrive.

Among the jobs that face a high risk of extinction are:

  • Cashiers and customer service employees: The automation of cash registers and the use of payment apps are decreasing the need for human interaction at points of sale.

  • Postal workers and bank tellers: The digitization of services such as email and online banking has reduced demand for these positions.

  • Administrative assistants and executive secretaries: Management tools and virtual assistants are replacing many tasks previously performed by these workers.

Despite certain sectors facing declines, the report also identifies areas that will experience growth. The jobs that will be strengthened include:

  • Agricultural workers: The need to ensure food supply in a world with a growing population will drive this sector.

  • Delivery drivers: The growth of e-commerce and new logistics dynamics foster demand in this field.

  • Construction workers: Infrastructure projects and sustainable urban development continue to create a strong need for labor.

  • Health professionals: With the aging population increasing, it is essential to have nurses, personal assistants, and social workers.

  • Educators: The need to adequately prepare future generations contributes to the expansion of this sector.

The study also mentions emerging technological roles such as:

  • Big data specialists: The demand for analyzing large volumes of information is on the rise.

  • Fintech engineers and AI experts: Automation in finance and intelligent systems are rapidly developing areas.

  • Software and application developers: The increasing digitization across various sectors also drives the need for these professionals.

Regarding innovations in this area, Perplexity has announced that it will be the first AI to include advertising within its responses. It will begin with ads in the U.S. that will appear alongside the generated responses, labeled as "sponsored." These ads will fund the company and will be accompanied by recognized brands.

Meanwhile, Linus Torvalds has expressed his criticism of the current state of AI, suggesting that much of what is presented as technological advancement is more marketing than reality. However, he also acknowledged the potentially transformative developments that generative AI can produce.

Finally, Apple has issued a public invitation to security researchers, offering rewards of up to one million dollars to those who can breach its AI cloud, Private Cloud Compute (PCC), highlighting its commitment to security in handling artificial intelligence.
