I've been looking for a wet floor cleaner that really reaches the edges of rooms, and it seems that Dreame might have the perfect solution.

The H15 Pro features a range of innovative smart characteristics.

Having a wet and dry vacuum cleaner is an excellent choice for those facing issues with mud or spills on hard floors, thus avoiding the need to mop frequently. Although these devices are effective at removing tough stains, they often have a bulky design that makes it difficult to access the edges of rooms. For this reason, the Dreame H15 Pro is particularly interesting, as it offers an ingenious solution to this inconvenience.

This wet floor cleaner is equipped with a chip in the front of the cleaning head that detects when it approaches a wall. When this happens, it causes the mop roller to shift forward, allowing it to get as close as possible to the wall, while at the same time, a barrier at the front deploys to prevent the mop from accidentally cleaning the wall or baseboard. Dreame refers to this feature as ‘three-edge coverage,’ a novel idea that has not been seen before, even in the best vacuums of its kind available.

This system is more akin to functions typically found in hybrid robot vacuums. The best robot vacuums today feature mopping pads that can extend when the device moves along the edge of a room, ensuring that no spots are left uncleaned.

Despite its size still being larger than that of a stick vacuum, Dreame has incorporated design modifications to make the H15 Pro as maneuverable as possible. The handle can lie completely flat on the floor, making it easier to clean beneath furniture. In some wet and dry vacuum models, suction decreases when laid down to prevent water from reaching the motor, but the H15 Pro is designed to maintain suction without loss. In fact, it can reach a suction power of 21,000Pa.

Another innovation that caught my attention is its self-cleaning process. Many high-end vacuums come with a self-cleaning cycle to facilitate maintenance, but the H15 Pro is the first I’ve seen that soaks its mops in hot water (212F / 100C) after use. When this cycle is activated, a tray at the base fills with hot water that soaks the rollers instead of just dampening them. The rollers then spin to remove dirt and grease. Once this process is complete, they are sealed and hot air is applied for five minutes to dry them.

I had the opportunity to try the H15 Pro during the opening of Dreame's new flagship store in the UK, and I was impressed. The design that allows the device to lie flat is very effective, and the vacuum is comfortable to use and easy to maneuver. Edge cleaning seemed to be a bit inconsistent during my test, but I am willing to give it a second chance when I have the opportunity to try it thoroughly.

The Dreame H15 Pro is scheduled to go on sale in the UK in March. We have requested information about pricing and launches in the United States and Australia, and we will update the article as soon as we obtain those details.
