This conflict arose from requests for access to a system that manages over $6 trillion annually for programs like Social Security and Medicare since after the November elections.
The previous administration was seeking ways to curb the distribution of federal money allocated by Congress, even going so far as to order a confusing freeze on spending, an action that many consider unconstitutional. Additionally, it is reported that Musk's associates have restricted access for civilian officials to computer systems containing personal data of millions of federal employees.
Leaked documents reveal that Musk's team has taken control of the General Services Administration, which is responsible for managing offices and technology for the federal government. Details have also emerged about a code review process being conducted by these associates across various government agencies.

However, after his swearing-in, President Trump signed an executive order that transformed the U.S. Digital Service into the “U.S. DOGE Service,” implying that Musk now operates within the government. It has been mentioned that he has an office in the West Wing of the White House and reportedly even spends the night in the DOGE's office.
