iPhone 17 Air: 4 Important Features That Are Being Rumored, With Pros and Cons.
Is there something more behind an attractive appearance?
For Apple device enthusiasts, the year 2025 promises to be exciting with the arrival of five new iPhone models. The first release is scheduled for February and will be the iPhone 16e, which was initially thought to be called the iPhone SE 4. In addition, the iPhone 17 series is anticipated, which will include the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and an innovative iPhone 17 Air, with a market launch expected in September.
Four of the five new iPhones will represent upgrades to existing models. However, the iPhone 17 Air stands out as it could become the thinnest iPhone in history, positioning itself as a serious competitor to the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. Below are the most notable features that have been leaked about this new model.
One of the most striking aspects of the iPhone 17 Air is its thickness. It is estimated to reach only 5.5 mm at its thinnest point, making it 30% thinner compared to the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, which have a thickness of 7.8 mm. So far, the thinnest iPhone record is held by the iPhone 6, with a thickness of 6.9 mm. If the leaks are correct, the iPhone 17 Air would surpass this figure, becoming almost a millimeter thinner than the Galaxy S25 Edge, which has a thickness of 6.4 mm.
Regarding its camera design, the iPhone 17 Air may incorporate a redesigned camera module. Rumors suggest it would feature a single 48 MP rear camera, although there is uncertainty about its placement. Some indicate it could adopt an elongated design similar to that of Google Pixel models, which would be a significant shift for Apple, that has traditionally maintained a more conservative approach to camera design. It is expected that the camera will be located in the corner of the device, similar to the iPhone 16e.
In terms of performance, the iPhone 17 Air is anticipated to be equipped with an A17 Pro chip or an even more advanced model. While the iPhone 16 features the A18 and the 16 Pro has the A18 Pro, the Air model is expected to come with the A19 chip or a simplified variant, aligning with its predecessors. Additionally, there’s talk that it could have 8GB of RAM, just like the rest of the iPhone 16 lineup.
However, one aspect that could be a cause for concern is battery life. According to some sources, the iPhone 17 Air could carry a battery between 3,000 mAh and 4,000 mAh. While this seems reasonable compared to previous models, its slim structure could complicate heat dissipation, which in turn could affect battery life. Although the A19 chip might help optimize efficiency, it’s possible that the battery life could be lower than that of other devices in the lineup.
