iFixit has started offering original parts for Xbox, allowing users to repair their Xbox Series X or S consoles. Additionally, the platform provides official guides that simplify the repair process. Those interested can explore the availability of these parts through the Microsoft Repair Hub on iFixit.
Elizabeth Chamberlain, iFixit's sustainability director, expressed her enthusiasm for this collaboration with Microsoft, highlighting the importance of extending the lifespan of Xbox devices and reducing electronic waste. iFixit now offers original parts and detailed repair guides for both the digital version and the disc drive version of the Xbox Series S and X.
The Microsoft Repair Hub also includes repair parts for Microsoft Surface devices, a service that iFixit began offering in 2023. Chamberlain noted that since the launch of the collaboration with Microsoft on Surface parts last year, they have been able to help users repair their laptops and tablets. Now, this same opportunity extends to Xbox console owners.
Furthermore, iFixit provides genuine repair components for Google's Pixel phones and the Pixel Tablet. Previously, the company also sold parts for Samsung devices, although that collaboration ended earlier this year.
