I tried this extension to move my Twitter followers to Bluesky and it completely transformed my experience.

Now you can leave Twitter without losing your followers.

In recent times, there has been a notable exodus of users from X, formerly known as Twitter, to Bluesky, with various reasons behind this shift. Among the causes are political factors, such as the platform's shift towards a more right-wing stance and the recent appointment of Elon Musk to a new position in Donald Trump’s government, which has intensified user concerns. Additionally, there are functional issues like site instability, changes in security features, the rise of spam, and controversy surrounding the new user verification system.

This set of problems has led many to seek alternatives, and Bluesky, a platform founded by Jack Dorsey, stands out as one of the most prominent options, with a continuous growth in its user base. However, one of the biggest challenges for those moving to this new network is how to regain the followers they had accumulated over the years on Twitter.

One solution to this problem is the Sky Follower Bridge, an extension available for browsers like Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. This tool allows users to easily locate and follow their Twitter contacts. After adding the extension and logging into their Bluesky account, users can search for matches using identifiers, usernames, or names in bios. Although the tool does not allow users to search for all followers at once due to Twitter's limitations, it streamlines the process by enabling users to find more profiles with the "Find More" button.

The experience with this extension has proven to be quite positive. Initially, when I logged into Bluesky, although I liked its interface and the absence of conflicts, the lack of activity drove me back to Twitter. However, the recent migration of users encouraged me to return to Bluesky, though the process of following my contacts was frustrating and laborious. It was through Twitter that I discovered the Sky Follower Bridge, which allowed me to recover my contacts in less than an hour, transforming my feed into a refreshing, spam-free space.

Although Bluesky still has challenges to overcome, the adoption of tools like Sky Follower Bridge eases the transition and enhances the experience on the new platform, making it a more welcoming place.
