I tried sleeping with Loop Dream and finally managed to rest for eight straight hours after weeks of restless nights.
"Dream a little dream of Loop."
I had the opportunity to try the new Loop Dream headphones, specifically designed to facilitate sleep, and I didn't hesitate to take it. After some unsatisfactory experiences with foam earplugs, I was prepared to feel at least some discomfort with these new headphones, but to my surprise, that wasn't the case.
The Loop Dream offers a remarkable noise reduction level of 27dB (SNR), making them the most effective in the Loop range in this aspect. One of the main innovations is their new oval tips, which ensure an optimal and secure fit while minimizing pressure on the ear canal. The brand's signature loop has also been modified; it now sits in the cavum of the ear, making it more comfortable for sleeping. It has a more rectangular shape and a smaller surface with a flexible silicone coating.
After moving into an apartment that seemed to be my ideal home, I discovered it required significant repairs and was destined for demolition. The radiators in my place, likely dating back to the early 20th century, produce a constant banging noise that interrupts my peace both day and night. This noise is particularly bothersome for someone like me, who suffers from sound hypersensitivity and a disorder called misophonia, where certain sounds trigger uncomfortable emotional reactions.
Nighttime becomes a true battle for sleep, as any noise, like the incessant banging of the radiators, jolts my mind awake, preventing me from resting. However, with the Loop Dream headphones, I have finally managed to enjoy restorative sleep.
Recent research suggests that constant exposure to noise can disrupt our circadian rhythm and cause unnecessary awakenings. The World Health Organization recommends that rooms maintain a noise level below 30dB at night. When measured, my radiators reached levels of 35dB, helping to explain my discomfort. Thanks to the Loop Dream, the noise reduction they offer allows for the silencing of low-level sounds while still perceiving important noises, such as alarms or doorbells.
While some people prefer the Quiet earplugs for sleeping, Loop's focus on the design of these new headphones has proven to be effective and comfortable. Despite having small ears, the oval tips worked well to reduce pressure, though the new shape of the loop did not fit perfectly. Still, the flexible silicone provided enough comfort. Although they have occasionally fallen out while I sleep, that is due to my active resting style.
The Loop Dream headphones are available in different colors and come with a portable case that makes it easy to store them near the bed.
