"I spent two weeks with the Honor Magic 7 Pro, and it could be the best Android phone in battery life."

The new flagship model from Honor offers you the best of both worlds: exceptional performance without sacrificing battery life.

The Honor Magic 7 Pro is a mobile phone that stands out for its quality in numerous aspects. Its display is among the best on the market, offering an impressive visual experience, while its performance is exceptional, and the battery not only has a long lifespan but also charges quickly, surpassing many competitors. Although the cameras deliver impressive results at times, their consistency could improve, and the software might not be to everyone's liking. Despite these small shortcomings, the Magic 7 Pro positions itself as one of the best Android phones available.

Pros:

  • Impressive battery life
  • Fast performance
  • Great camera hardware
  • Powerful speakers

Cons:

  • Does not include charger or case
  • Inconsistent image processing
  • Polarizing software

Honor presents its Magic 7 Pro model, a smartphone designed with a more rectangular aesthetic that follows current trends. This new design features flat edges and slight curves at the corners, while the camera bump is less pronounced than in previous versions. Regarding the camera, although the hardware remains mostly the same, there have been improvements in the telephoto camera, which now offers more megapixels and closer focusing on distant objects.

Despite the new EU regulations resulting in a slightly smaller battery (5,270 mAh down from 5,600 mAh), battery life remains remarkably long. It can be used for almost two days on a single charge, and the recharge time is surprisingly fast, supporting up to 100W wired and 80W wirelessly.

Inside the device is the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, complemented by an artificial intelligence processor that further optimizes performance. The interface, based on Magic OS 9, features several useful functionalities, although its design might clash with users accustomed to a more standard Android experience.

In terms of design, the Magic 7 Pro features a matte glass finish that feels very premium. Available in three colors, the phone is also water and dust resistant with an IP68/IP69 rating, providing additional protection.

Its 6.8-inch OLED display offers a bright and rich visual experience. With an adjustable refresh rate of up to 120Hz, it ensures smooth interaction, ideal for gaming and multimedia. The display even includes multiple features that reduce eye strain and is highly resistant to scratches.

The camera system includes a 50MP main sensor, an ultra-wide angle, and a new 200MP telephoto lens that provides 3x optical zoom. However, image quality can be variable, especially in low-light conditions.

With a price of £1,099 in the UK, the Magic 7 Pro is positioned above some of its competitors in the same category, although its excellent technical specifications and innovative proposals could justify its premium cost. It is undoubtedly a formidable competitor in the high-end Android phone market.
