Hydrow unveils a new smart rowing machine, no subscription required.

Hydrow has recently introduced a new smart rowing machine that does not require a subscription. The Core model allows users to explore virtual destinations, although it does not offer guided sessions led by instructors.

Hydrow, a company known for its smart rowing machines, has introduced its new model called Core, which stands out for not requiring monthly subscription fees. The Hydrow Core Rower maintains the "award-winning design" of the original Pro Rower model, which has been described as "the Peloton of smart rowing machines." The main advantage of the Core is that it is a one-time purchase, thereby eliminating recurring subscription costs.

This device includes a built-in screen that allows users to "row through stunning destinations," offering access to 30 self-guided rowing sessions in these exotic locations. The Core Rower also supports an unlimited number of users, which is convenient; however, there is a significant downside: without a subscription, users will not have access to instructor-led workouts, medals, milestones, and other premium features. Nonetheless, users have the option to subscribe later to access these features. The monthly subscription cost is $44, which could be helpful to assess whether the additional functionalities justify the investment.

Currently, the Hydrow Core Rower is available for a price of $1,995, the same as the flagship Pro Rower. Additionally, the company has recently launched a more compact and affordable version, the Hydrow Wave, which is offered at an approximate price of $1,700.
