Hue presents eight new free spring themes for users.
Philips Hue has released a free update that brings a fresh, spring-like touch.
The latest update of the Philips Hue app, version 5.39, is now available for download from the iOS and Android stores. This version introduces new spring-inspired scenes. All themes are available in the Hue scene gallery after the update. The eight scenes include the names: Nature’s colors, Precious, Narcissa, Baby’s breath, Crocus, Blossom, Spring lake, and Spring blossom. Predominant colors are pink, yellow, and green, with Nature’s colors being particularly highlighted. It is described as “bringing the best of nature indoors with this all-day scene that automatically changes throughout the day.” To fully enjoy this scene, it is recommended to have more than one Hue light, as it is a clear example of 24-hour scenes, where the color adapts according to the time of day.
This release is just one of several recent updates from Philips Hue. A few weeks ago, the company partnered with Samsung SmartThings to significantly improve the compatibility of its products, and shortly after, information about a smart doorbell that will be integrated into its app was leaked. Previously, the brand had faced criticism for stagnation in its development, as it was a pioneer in the smart lighting field. However, the recent series of announcements suggests the beginning of a new phase for Hue, sparking interest in its future innovations in the smart lighting sector.
In an additional move, Philips Hue has provided support for security cameras and motion sensors, thereby offering greater interactivity with its existing product line. This announcement was made during the annual IFA convention, where several new devices were showcased, including the Philips Hue Secure Wired camera, the Philips Hue Secure contact sensor, and the Philips Hue Secure Floodlight. The camera is capable of recording video in 1080p, has night vision, motion alerts, two-way audio, and can sync with existing Hue lights to deter intruders. Additionally, it can distinguish whether an alert comes from a human, a pet, or a package, enhancing the privacy and security of the recorded material.
