How many times do Realme phones receive Android updates?

We inform you about the number of Android updates that realme phones receive, a key factor when choosing a smartphone.

The technical support received when purchasing a smartphone can significantly influence whether it is considered a good acquisition. In this regard, the amount of Android updates and security patches is a crucial aspect. Recently, the frequency with which devices from the brand realme, a manufacturer that is gaining global popularity, receive updates has been evaluated. Although it does not yet rank among the top market leaders, its offerings in the mid-range, premium, and entry-level segments make it a competitor to consider.

realme devices are scheduled to receive up to four years of Android updates and security patches. This applies to both high-end models such as the realme GT6 and realme 13 Pro+, as well as more affordable models like the realme Note 60. For example, the realme 13 Pro+ launches with Android 14 and realme UI 5.0, which means it is on track to receive updates up to Android 18, expected in 2027. The same goes for the realme GT 6, which will also start its update cycle from Android 14.

Additionally, a list of realme devices has been compiled which, according to unofficial information, should be updated to Android 15. Some of these include the realme GT 6, realme GT 6T, realme 13 Pro+, and other models from the lineup.

Regarding which manufacturer offers the most Android updates, Google tops the list. With the release of the Pixel 8, the company has guaranteed seven years of updates, while its previous models offered three years of Android updates and five years of security updates. Samsung has also improved its update policy, promising seven years for its latest devices and offering a minimum of two years of Android updates and four years of security patches for its entry-level models.

The mid-range market is extremely competitive, with a wide variety of smartphones offering attractive features in the price range of $250 to $300. One example in this segment is the Moto G84, which stands out for its design in collaboration with Pantone and its initial storage of 256 GB. However, it has been criticized that its processor, the Snapdragon 695 5G, is not among the most powerful. For those willing to invest a little more, the POCO X6 Pro, which features a Mediatek Dimensity 8300 Ultra chipset, presents an interesting alternative in the mid-range.

As manufacturers introduce competitive models and new technologies, such as the Poco F6, it is advisable to evaluate the available options in the market before making a purchasing decision. On the other hand, the Poco F6 Pro offers even more advanced capabilities, excelling in performance thanks to its integration with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
