"Having Issues with macOS Sequoia Pop-Ups? Apple is on It, But There's Already a Solution Available."
Mac users are not satisfied.
Apple recently launched its latest operating system, macOS Sequoia, which has been on the market for approximately a month. Since its release, there has been a common complaint among users regarding a feature that has become quite annoying. In an effort to protect user privacy, the system has started showing pop-up windows about application permissions. Although this measure is intended to keep users informed, the problem lies in the fact that these notifications appear excessively and constantly.
Complaints have been received about this situation, including comments from Vercel's CEO, Guillermo Rauch, who shared his frustration through his account on the platform X (formerly Twitter). Additionally, a thread has been opened on Reddit where users express their dissatisfaction, indicating that after only one day of use, they feel overwhelmed by the number of pop-ups, comparing it to the experience of using Windows and the constant warning messages about local network access.
Apple seems to be aware of this inconvenience and is planning a solution in the upcoming update, macOS Sequoia 15.1. This new version aims to reduce the intrusiveness of notifications by utilizing Apple Intelligence and marking certain applications as "trusted."
In the meantime, there is an alternative for those who do not want to wait for this fix. The Amnesia application allows users to individually disable the monthly reminders for screen capture access for each application. This software operates on a donation-based system, where users can contribute any amount they wish.
However, this is not the only issue that macOS Sequoia users have faced. Recently, a security bug was detected that affected several security products, including enterprise solutions like CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, and Microsoft Defender. This issue still impacts some VPNs for Mac, such as ExpressVPN.
Additionally, other users have reported problems with USB connectivity; in some cases, USB devices are not immediately detected upon being connected, which can significantly delay recognition or even result in a complete lack of detection by the system. Despite these reports, the issue with USB connections does not seem to be widespread, which could explain the lack of official comments from Apple on the matter.
Given the number of issues encountered in such a short period since the launch, many experts suggest that the most prudent course of action would be to refrain from installing Sequoia until these inconveniences are resolved. This recommendation resonates with many Windows users who have adopted a similar practice in response to common bugs in new versions of the operating system.
