Hasbro incorporates classic board games into Fortnite, starting with Clue.

The emerging Fortnite ecosystem continues to expand with three new adaptations.

The Fortnite ecosystem continues to expand with the addition of classic board games, starting with Clue. Epic Games has been working to transform Fortnite into a gaming platform, attracting different brands to develop in-game experiences. Recently, Hasbro has joined this trend, announcing adaptations of its well-known board games.

The first game in this new collaboration is Murder Mystery: Clue, which is now available. Although it is not a board game in the traditional sense, it represents a reimagining of the dynamics of the popular game in a multiplayer murder mystery format, designed to be played in multiple rounds. This type of game has been successful in titles like Among Us, and Epic had previously attempted this formula with a temporary mode in Fortnite in 2021. Additionally, Hasbro plans to launch a version of Guess Who? later this month and Connect Four in December.

The new games have been developed using the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), a more advanced tool introduced in 2023 to help creators design in-game experiences. The creation of these games is handled by Look North World, a newly formed studio by Alexander Seropian, co-founder of Bungie, which is dedicated exclusively to creating “games designed for creator platforms.”

By the end of 2023, Epic made a significant effort to expand Fortnite, launching three new games: Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival. However, the main Battle Royale mode remains the most appealing to players, and the most recent season has seen a collaboration with Marvel. Despite this, brands like Lego and Hasbro continue to advance their own projects for the game.

Recently, Epic also announced a new first-person camera for UEFN, opening up new possibilities for creating first-person shooter games.
