Hades II will be released first on consoles for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.
Without Switch 2, there's no issue.
Wes Davis, a weekend editor specializing in technology and entertainment, has been writing news, reviews, and more in the realm of tech journalism since 2020. Recently, it was announced that Hades II will be a console exclusive for Nintendo Switch systems when it finally launches outside of early access. The Japanese company revealed the game's arrival on the Switch and Switch 2 last week, and today, they released a new video titled "Creator’s Voice" that offers more details about the title.
In the video, Supergiant Games employees did not provide specific information about the Switch 2 version, but they mentioned that 60 fps gameplay is essential for them and that they will be able to take advantage of "some of the graphical features thanks to the greater power" of the system. Additionally, the video serves as a good introduction for those who have not been following the Hades sequel, currently in early access on PC, and are interested in learning more about it.
Although the video states that Hades II will be released "first for consoles on Nintendo Switch 2," Supergiant Games clarified in a post that the game will also be available on the original Switch once it reaches version 1.0. The developer has promised to provide more information about Hades II, which still does not have a defined release date, "later this year."
Meanwhile, a colleague has already shared their excitement for the experience in Hades II, which leads me to wonder if it's time to try to defeat the final boss in the first Hades again, where I once made it but lost in the second phase of the battle and have not returned since.
